Mission
Family Health Alliance (FHA) is a private, nonprofit, nonpolitical
organization dedicated to improving and enhancing the health of women
and families in resource-poor environments through education, training
and research. FHA promotes the advancement of reproductive health
and rights and recognizes the role of women in the promotion and improvement
of family health. FHA is committed to grassroots, community participatory
and culturally-sensitive public health programs.
FHA’s training programs are designed and implemented within a unique empowerment model in which its teams of trainers work closely with the trainees to help them to overcome cultural and social obstacles in providing reproductive health care in often challenging environments.
FHA collaborates with local governments, teaching institutions and local NGOs to build professional capacity among health providers. FHA believes that meaningful and sustainable improvements in health care are rooted in the training and empowering of providers and the local population.
Letter from the Director
I believe that the expansion of family planning and reproductive health
services offers an invaluable opportunity to save lives and to improve
the quality of life for women, families, and communities worldwide.
Access to family planning and reproductive health services is a fundamental
human right and plays a critical role in decreasing maternal mortality
and morbidity, in improving child survival rates and is an essential
basic for social and economic development. [More]
